RecoilSystems · IMPULSE

Recoil you can feel, on the training tools you already use.

IMPULSE is an EMS recoil simulator from RecoilSystems. Dry-fire, simulator and non-lethal training builds skill, but without recoil the shooter never has to manage the gun. IMPULSE uses neuromuscular electrical stimulation to add recoil to existing training systems rather than replacing them.

Rail module

Mounts in a weapon-light footprint with a toolless clamp for Glock and MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails. It detects the shot, and the weapon needs no modification.

Encrypted link

Sends an encrypted RF signal to a body-worn, dual-channel stimulator worn with armor and rigs.

Muscle response

Contracts the same muscles real recoil loads: forearms for handguns; support arm, shoulder and rotator cuff for long guns. 8 intensity levels per channel, with profiles from .22 to 12-gauge.

Kinematic data

A 6-axis IMU captures pre-shot movement, recovery, cadence and splits, exportable for after-action review.

What is IMPULSE?

IMPULSE is a recoil simulator from RecoilSystems. A rail-mounted module detects the shot and sends an encrypted signal to a body-worn stimulator, which uses neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) to contract the shooter's own muscles. The result is realistic gun movement, forced optic recovery and grip stress without live ammunition.

Does IMPULSE require modifying the weapon?

No. The rail module mounts in a weapon-light footprint with a toolless clamp for Glock rails and MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails.

Which training systems does IMPULSE work with?

IMPULSE is functional with AceVR, DryFireMag Smart Mag and MantisX TitanX; MantisX Blackbeard integration is in development. It supports gas-blowback and airsoft platforms and Simunition-type NLTA and UTM-type bolts, and is designed to interoperate with projection simulators, ShotKam-type cameras and StressVest / AUFIRE.

Which weapons and users is IMPULSE for?

Pistols, SBRs, carbines and shotguns, with recoil profiles from .22 caliber to 12-gauge. It is built for SWAT and tactical teams, Special Operations Forces, Security Forces / CATM, counter-UAS and base-defense units, and law enforcement training programs.
